Early this year, Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream won “Best Sweet Treats” in the Golden Chopsticks awards—an awards ceremony celebrating East and Southeast Asian cuisine in the United Kingdom—for the second time, following its first victory in 2019.
Our founders and second generation Filipinos, Omar Shah and Mae Maglanoc named Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream after friendly neighbourhood street vendors in the Philippines selling freshly made ice cream using only a steel drum, ice, and salt.
Our signature Filipino dirty ice cream recreates the Philippines' unrivaled and famous dessert experience. We serve distinct Philippines ice cream flavours such as ube (purple yam), queso (cheese), guyabano (soursop), black buko (black coconut), milo (chocolate malt), and calamansi (Filipino lime).
One of our must-try desserts is the best-selling “Bilog”, a classic Filipino ice cream sandwich using your dirty ice cream flavour of choice and traditional Filipino toasted bread called pandesal (baked by our sister bakery Panadera).

And of course, another crowd favourite is our flavourful halo-halo (classic Filipino shaved ice sundae) made with evaporated milk, coconut strings, jellies, leche flan (crème caramel), and ube ice cream.
Filipino-inspired coffee
Another one of creative specialties is Filipino flavoured iced lattes using ethically sourced Liberico beans which we call our “Kape Kulay”, which translates to coffee in colour. We brought the first Ube flavoured iced latte to London in addition to Milo-flavoured (malted chocolate cream) and Black Buko-flavoured (coconut cream) iced lattes for our assortment of sweet and tropical-inspired coffee beverages.
Mamasons now open in Westfield
We’ve also recently opened our third branch in Westfield White City, following all the love we’ve received at our Kentish Town and Chinatown branches. In addition to our regular lineup, we’re offering an exclusive new flavour at our newly opened branch in Westfield London: the Baklava Ice Cream. While it used to be a one-off dessert years back, we brought it back due to popular demand! It is a sweet and creamy honey ice cream topped with flaky and butterfly baklava pieces (made in-house), fluffy Ghazl Al Banat (candy floss), and crushed pistachios.
